An ex governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso has debunked reports making the rounds that he has defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, alongside some lawmakers.
Kwankwaso, a member of the national Assembly, described the report as “malicious story” meant to tarnish his image.
Reports emerged yesterday that Rabiu Kwankwaso has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Kwankwaso’s chief of staff, Aminu Abdussalam, who spoke to newsmen on Tuesday, said the report was “totally unfounded.”
He said the senator and his supporters had not at any time thought of leaving the APC.
According to him, the Kano State government planted the story to cause disaffection among his supporters after the national leadership of the APC recognised the leadership of Umar Doguwa as the legitimate chairman of the party in the state.
