Freedom Radio Reporter Sacked After Reporting Unpalatable News About Kano Government

According to Aminu Abdu Baka Noma, a Freedom Radio Kano reporter by the name Abbas Yushau, has been relieved of his duty.

Kano state government has sacked Freedom Radio reporter, Abbas Yushau among the State House correspondents.

Yushau’s termination of duty as a State House correspondent for Freedom Radio is not unconnected with a report he filed in recently. The dismissed journalist was said to have reported that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s delegation engaged armed robbers while they were travelling from Abuja to Jos, the capital of Plateau state.

According to Rariya, sources from the media office of Kano state government confirmed that the delegation indeed had a fight with the armed robbers. However, Kano state government dismissed the report.

Consequently, the government of Ganduje has sent a letter to Freedom Radio to withdraw Abbas Yushau from the State House.
